267. Follow up of patients of acne vulgaris treated with tetracyclines. (Abstract)

Follow up of patients of acne vulgaris treated with tetracyclines. Tetracyclines have been used extensively for the management of moderately severe to severe acne. In this study we studied the effect of withdrawal of tetracycline and minocycline on the course of acne. Ninety seven clinically controlled patients of acne vulgaris who had earlier taken tetracycline (1G daily) or minocycline (100 mg daily) were followed up at 4 weekly intervals for a period of 12 weeks after stopping all anti-acne (...) therapy. At each visit the acne lesion score (ALS) was calculated. It was found that in the group of 48 patients who had previously received tetracyclines, 25% continued to improve at 12 weeks while 16.7% had relapsed. In the group of 49 patients who had earlier taken minocycline, 69.4% continued to improve and none had relapsed at 12 weeks. Sensitivity and Selectivity on Aptamer-Based Assay: The Determination of Tetracycline Residue in Bovine Milk A competitive enzyme-linked aptamer assay (ELAA) to detect tetracycline in milk was performed by using two different aptamers individually; one is 76 mer-DNA aptamer and the other is 57 mer-RNA aptamer. The best optimum condition was obtained without monovalent ion, Na(+) and also by adding no Mg(2+) ion in the assay buffer, along with RT incubation. The optimized ELAA showed a good (...) sensitivity (LOD of 2.10 × 10(-8) M) with a wide dynamic range (3.16 × 10(-8) M ~ 3.16 × 10(-4) M). In addition, the average R.S.D. across all data points of the curve was less than 2.5% with good recoveries (~101.8%) from the milk media. To investigate the value of tetracycline sclerotherapy for management of recurrent or persisting non-neoplastic ovarian cysts in comparison to the aspiration without sclerotherapy.Ninety-six patients with proven non-neoplastic ovarian cysts were randomized into two groups.
