LDH-A regulates the tumor microenvironment via HIF-signaling and modulates the immune response. Previous studies show that LDH-A knockdown reduces orthotopic 4T1 breast tumor lactate and delays tumor growth and the development of metastases in nude mice. Here, we report significant changes in the tumor microenvironment (TME) and a more robust anti-tumor response in immune competent BALB/c mice. 4T1 murine breast cancer cells were transfected with shRNA plasmids directed against LDH-A (KD (...) and TME phenotype were significantly different in LDH-A KD tumors compared with controls. In LDH-A KD cells, HIF-1 activity, hexokinase 1 and 2 expression and VEGF secretion were reduced. These three enzymes work together and convert MG into D-pyruvate, which directly goes to TCA cycle. Here, a comparative study of the ability of MG detoxification (...) conditions. The MG content and the corresponding growth of cells was measured in all the bacterial as well as yeast strains. This study reveals differential contribution of MG detoxification enzymes in mitigating MG levels and alleviating stress in both prokaryotes as well as eukaryotes. Serum LDH level may predict outcome of chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients with a 17p deletion: a retrospective analysis of prognostic factors in China This study aims to evaluate the natural history of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and a 17p deletion (17p-) and identify the predictive factors within this subgroup.The sample of patients with CLL were analyzed by fluorescencein situ hybridization for deletions in chromosome bands 11q22, 13q14 and 17p13; trisomy of bands (...) months, P<0.001).
