In hemorrhagic stroke, the causes may include hypertension, (berry) aneurism, or arteriovenous malformation.
If they burst or rupture as described, they would not result in a collection of blood, instead the blood (being in the subarachnoid space) will spread out diffusely and not bulge as above.

Stroke is defined as reduced blood supply to a certain part of the brain due to occlusion by a thrombus/ embolus (ischemic stroke) or hemorrhage (hemorrhagic stroke).
