Advertise on TRIP

The TRIP Database is the leading freely available evidence based medicine clinical search tools on the internet. Our move to free-access has supplied the excellent opportunity of advertising on TRIP.

The TRIP Database has two main advertising mechanisms, Google ads and our ‘Sponsored links’.  The Google ads occupy a secondary position in the search results screen while our sponsored links lie in the most prominent position on the results screen, at the top of the actual results.

People who use TRIP are looking for specific clinical information.   Therefore our advertising is targeted at specific search keywords.  Using our ‘Sponsored links’ means purchasing a keyword search term e.g. asthma, diabetes for a period of time (minimum one month). When a user searches on that keyword a banner ad is displayed.  If you have no banner ad you can use simple text or we can create a customised banner for you.

NOTE: we will only sell a particular keyword to one 'sponsor' at a time, as such you will exclusivity.

Example adverts might be:

- Launch of a new product
- Notification of a conference
- Highlighting new educational opportunities
- General awareness raising of a specific issue

Search tips

  • Using only one term can bring back a large number of results, so think of additional terms to help qualify the search e.g. asthma and steroids.
  • Phrase searching is achieved by placing the phrase within quotation marks.
  • In addition to Boolean searching you can also use brackets to enhance the search e.g. ‘(measles OR mumps) and pregnancy’
  • A search term can be stemmed by using the ‘*’ e.g. ‘cancer*’ will find cancer, cancerous etc.
  • On the results page you can filter your results based on an evidence based medicine hierarchy e.g. clinical guidelines, systematic reviews. Use the ‘Filter by’ function on the right-hand side of the screen.
